I also had many years worth of water leaking in my basement which caused a dirty dingy environment. I decided it was finally time for a good clean and disinfecting now that my basement is finally waterproof. After a ton of research I settled on master tech environmental based on their outstanding reviews. Wayne showed up on Thursday 8/11/22 prompt and early. I was a little nervous because there were supposed to be two men doing the job, but he assured me I would be getting the same quality of work with just himself on the job. He made good on his word. He was polite, respectful of my home, and got every square inch of my basement. He was very detailed, and did an outstanding job. It was exactly what I had hoped for and more. I know it was very tedious work, but he did it all in a sufficient amount of time. I would recommend him to anyone. While not cheap the price was less than other companies with good reputations offered. More importantly there was no scare tactics used to try to get me to to do more than needed. The guys working on my basement were friendly and hard working.Now, this is part is not a review on them but a warning to people like me who forget what they have till it’s gone. The only negative I had of the whole experience was due to my naivety. They told me before they started to let them know what I wanted to save. They said they would try to save any valuables that they could. Unfortunately, I forgot some things were down there and valuables can be subjective. (We should have emptied them ourselves in case they found mold, but hadn't done so. Oops.) They left the area cleaner than they found it! She said, "the house is making us sick". Finally after months of doctor visits and medication Maureen decided we should check our basement. Why we did this was because we had a water problem 2 summers prior and XYZ Company did the water cleanup. Well to my dismay we detected some mold in the corners. We immediately contacted Master Tech Environmental due their internet quality reviews. Mr. Tom Duff visited the same evening. He went right to the basement and in no time discovered black mold which was under the linoleum in our partially finished side. The test equipment detected numbers that were ridiculous and sickening. Tom discussed in detail what his team of professional would do and how we would be well protected after the mold remediation. We schedule the cleanup.A team of 5 members, headed by Tony arrived shortly after receiving the proposal and contract. There was no holding the crew back. Tony and Mark walked me through their program which took four days.Not once did they slow down working as a team they completely emptied the base of years of clutter on one side and a complete array of desks, computer equipment, bookcases filled with hardback, paperback and audio books all which was lost to the mold. Not only did we lose the office in its entirety but seasonal clothes and coats, decorations etc. What a disaster.For the better part of two days they removed everything from the basement. Only certain items were able to be kept. Oh boy!The came the mold removal process. The team completely set up a plastic chamber from the entry door to the cellar steps. Over the next two days they went about the remediation. What a task at hand. The team did an awesome job. Afterwards, a walk through and discussion of all that had been cleaned was led by Tony. What a job that they did.That was not the last of Master Tech. Just this month we had another homeowner issue which resulted in a flooded basement. After calling the insurance company, the Horizon and Delmonte Waste Removal, I called Tom at Master Tech.Tom promised me he would have a team to my house that day. Thankfully Tony and Mark arrived around 4:00 and went right to work. Four hours later and looking a little tired, they had the fans and dehumidifier running full speed to dry out the waterless basement. If not for them I do believe my wife would have traded me and the house in for a glass of wine.Thank you Tom, Tony, Mark and the mold team! The owner Tom was invaluable. He not only explained all the work, but his engineering expertise uncovered several other dangerous trouble spots for us - answered why house was sinking/revealed vents opened by previous owner, causing needless payment for ac and heat of a large storage area for 20 years, need for retaining wall outside to stop water entering foundation, etc. (MasterTech could not make all corrections, but alerted us to the need, and told us what was not necessary to do!) Tom also helped us file for insurance, and most of the cost was covered!
The crew - 3 men, were always prompt, courteous, very clean, and communicative. They sealed my inside crawl space entrance, and did all their work through a small opening in the foundation.
