A Little More About Haddon Heights, New Jersey
Haddon Heights New Jersey, located in Camden County, was officially established in March of 1904 from parts of Haddon Township NJ. Today, the 1.6 square mile borough is bordered by Audubon NJ, Bellmawr NJ, Haddonfield NJ, Haddon Twp NJ and Mt Ephraim NJ. The borough is home to about 7,600 residents, with roughly 3,000 households and 2,000 families.
The area was originally settled by John Hinchman and his lone, one-room brick house in 1699. Development over the next century included the construction of a mill race and the construction of some dwellings by noteworthy individuals like Col. Joseph Ellis (Revolutionary War hero), Governor Joseph Bloomfield and the Glover Family. By 1890, a passenger station was constructed for the Atlantic City Railroad Company.
